FUNCTIONAL
ENGLISH –ENTRY LEVEL, LEVEL 1 & 2
Awarding Body: Oxford
Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR)
Overview:
Functional English encourages learners to be confident of
speaking, listening, reading and writing and enables adapting
to a range of audiences and contexts. Functional Skills
are gained over three levels – Entry Level, Level
1 and Level 2. All learners both young people and adults
would benefit from functional English to explain information
clearly and succinctly in speech and writing; expressing
a point of view reasonably and effectively.
Assessment:
Learners must demonstrate that they can read and understand
information and instructions and then analyze how ideas
and information can be presented. Learners must also demonstrate
that they can make an oral presentation or report, contribute
to discussions and use speech collaboratively in teams to
agree actions and conclusions.
OCR’s Functional Skills English
